The Rector’s Proxy for Persons with Disabilities
The Rector’s Proxy for Persons with Disabilities at WUT was appointed by Decision No. 12/2024 of the Rector of Warsaw University of Technology of January 16, 2024.
The Rector's Proxy for Persons with Disabilities until the end of the 2020-2024 term is Iwona Grabarek PhD.
The responsibilities of the Rector's Proxy for Persons with Disabilities include:
- Proposing and promoting actions to ensure the realization of the idea of an accessible, friendly, and open university for people with disabilities.
- Taking actions to ensure informational, communicational, digital, and architectural accessibility for people with disabilities at Warsaw University of Technology.
- Working towards removing barriers in the recruitment process for employees at the Warsaw University of Technology with disabilities.
- Collaborating with the heads of basic and university-wide organizational units at WUT to eliminate barriers and identify the needs of persons with disabilities.
- Collaborating with the heads of basic and university-wide organizational units at WUT to adapt educational programs to the needs of people with disabilities.
- Collaborating with the Section for Persons with Disabilities and psychologists employed at Warsaw University of Technology.
- Collaborating with the project manager of "Accessible University".
- Initiating cooperation with external institutions and non-governmental organizations working for persons with disabilities.
- Proposing actions related to the allocation of subsidies for the support of persons with disabilities.
- Participating in the work of teams aimed at obtaining funds from external sources to address the needs of persons with disabilities.
- Participating in the analysis of internal procedures and contributing to the creation of internal legal acts in the field of supporting people with disabilities.
- Implementing actions commissioned by the Centre for International Cooperation as part of the ENHANCE consortium.
- Coordinating activities aimed at integrating persons with disabilities into the academic environment.
- Preparing reports on their own activities.
