At the same time, the Committee emphasizes that any scientific research involving a medical experiment is subject to mandatory review by a competent bioethics committee, under penalty of criminal liability for failure to comply with this obligation.
If a research project involving a medical experiment of a research nature contains a non-medical component led by an employee, doctoral candidate, or student of the Warsaw University of Technology, the head of that component may apply to the Committee for an opinion on the compliance of the research project involving human participants with the principles of research ethics. Such an opinion shall apply only to the non-medical part of the research project and does not replace the opinion of a bioethics committee.
