The Rector’s Proxy for Persons with Disabilities

The Rector’s Proxy for Persons with Disabilities at WUT was appointed by Decision No. 12/2024 of the Rector of Warsaw University of Technology of January 16, 2024.

The Rector's Proxy for Persons with Disabilities until the end of the 2020-2024 term is Iwona Grabarek PhD.

The responsibilities of the Rector's Proxy for Persons with Disabilities include:

  1. Proposing and promoting actions to ensure the realization of the idea of an accessible, friendly, and open university for people with disabilities.
  2. Taking actions to ensure informational, communicational, digital, and architectural accessibility for people with disabilities at Warsaw University of Technology.
  3. Working towards removing barriers in the recruitment process for employees at the Warsaw University of Technology with disabilities.
  4. Collaborating with the heads of basic and university-wide organizational units at WUT to eliminate barriers and identify the needs of persons with disabilities.
  5. Collaborating with the heads of basic and university-wide organizational units at WUT to adapt educational programs to the needs of people with disabilities.
  6. Collaborating with the Section for Persons with Disabilities and psychologists employed at Warsaw University of Technology.
  7. Collaborating with the project manager of "Accessible University".
  8. Initiating cooperation with external institutions and non-governmental organizations working for persons with disabilities.
  9. Proposing actions related to the allocation of subsidies for the support of persons with disabilities.
  10. Participating in the work of teams aimed at obtaining funds from external sources to address the needs of persons with disabilities.
  11. Participating in the analysis of internal procedures and contributing to the creation of internal legal acts in the field of supporting people with disabilities.
  12. Implementing actions commissioned by the Centre for International Cooperation as part of the ENHANCE consortium.
  13. Coordinating activities aimed at integrating persons with disabilities into the academic environment.
  14. Preparing reports on their own activities.
